When the human brain views an image, anything within the center of our vision has a greater chance of drawing our attention than anything in our peripheral vision. Our algorithm reflects this known center bias when analysing content. However, this bias can be toggled on and off when creating a new study.

We recommend keeping center bias on for the majority of use cases, as this reflects a human's vision. There are some situations however, where turning the center bias off may be relevant.

For example, if the overall layout of your content is to be decided - so the key elements may move location - but you still want to assess their visual saliency. This may be a shelf-test, where you have no control over where the products will end up in relation to competitors'. Or, if testing the key imagery for a visual, with the final layout still undecided.
