Using the Desktop App
Using the Desktop App to assess websites is simple, just search for a website of your choosing via the URL bar at the top of the page. The Dragonfly heatmap will assess the view as you browse.
In this window you can toggle between the Heatmap and Original view.
You can also interact with and browse the site as you would in any other browser, such as navigation, clicking links, and selecting from dropdowns.
Element Analysis
For more detailed element analysis, use the element picker on the right of the page to highlight key areas, and score them with Dragonfly Metrics.
The element picker with highlight all the selected element types on the page, and track them dynamically.
The elements will be scored with a Dragonfly Attention Metric, which you can select from the dropdown above the element picker. For more information on Attention Metrics, check out this article.
Is your element not being picked up by any of the quick selector options? Check out this article to learn how to select them.
Mobile and Tablet View
Not all web browsing is done through a computer screen, with a large number of site visits coming from mobile or tablet devices. The Dragonfly App accounts for this, and allows you to easily swap between viewports.
To assess a site from a different viewport, use the dropdown in the top right of the page to select generic tablet and mobile viewports respectively. The webpage should update to the devices format accordingly.
The element picker will function across all viewports, for consistent testing across channels.
