Learn how to manoeuvre through the Mobile Lens application and leverage attention data to understand the impact of your creative content in the real world.

Live Mode

This launches the app into real-time observation mode, bringing in the live feed from the devices built-in camera.

  1. Select the Live Mode analysis option at the top of the screen, this overlays and enables the heat map saliency visualisation

  2. Allow Dragonfly Mobile "Access to the Camera and Microphone"

  3. Take a picture by selecting the camera button at the bottom of the screen, this takes a temporary picture, from here you can analyse the image and save it.

  4. To capture a video feed of the Live Mode, we recommend using your devices built-in screen recording function

Image Gallery and Region Analysis

Select the image you would like to analyse from your mobile devices photo gallery and the app will automatically run the image through the Dragonfly AI algorithm.

  1. Select the Image Gallery analysis option from the main menu. This will automatically open up your devices photos

    1. OR, take a picture using the camera button in Live Mode

  2. Enable access or a selected limited access to your devices photos and select the image you want to analyse

Analysis

Once you have taken your temporary screenshot through Live Mode or uploaded an image through Image Gallery, you will be able to start your analysis journey.

Mode

The 'Mode' option allows you to intialise and toggle the Dragonfly attention heatmap.

It uses a red-blue colour gradient to instantly visualise where a customer's attention will be sub-consciously drawn to, within the first 0-2 seconds of seeing the image.

Red indicates a region that is highly attention grabbing (high saliency). Blue indicates that a region is less attention grabbing (low saliency).

Regions

The Region Analysis view enables you to select and create you own custom areas for analysis. You can create multiple regions for comparative analysis.

  • To create a region, simply click the 'Regions' button at the bottom of the screen. You can continue clicking it to create additional AOIs.

  • To move a region, click the newly created AOI and drag it around the screen with your finger to the desired location.

  • To change the size of a region, click the AOI so that pink circles appear in the corners of the square and use these to change the X and Y axis' of the AOI.

  • To delete a region, individually tap each of the AOIs already created and click the 'X' in the top left of the AOI.

Metric

Once you have built your AOI regions on the key informational areas, by selecting the bottom right button, you can select from several metrics designed to provide you with the most relevant data for each study.

  • Probability of Perception:

    • This metric estimates the percentage of viewers who have their attention drawn to an area of interest or hotspot at first glance.

  • Share of Attention:

    • This metric estimates how much of the total attention within a scene is attributed to a given AOI (as a percentage).

  • Attention Power Factor:

    • The APF metric tells you how well your region is performing in relation to its size.
