Areas of Interest (AOI)
AOI allows you to analyse and report on individual elements within your content.
These areas can be created by selecting the Areas of Interest (AOI) report, clicking the Draw AOI button and choose Square for rectangular regions, or Polygon for all other shaped regions.
The AOI are scored using our Probability of Perception metric. You can also choose to use our handy Share of Attention, Attention Power Factor or Local Attention Score, depending on which metric is most appropriate for your design goals. For a full guide on our Attention Metrics, click here.
Clicking the vertical ellipsis in the top right of the image you are analysing will open a drop down menu. This allows you to copy the current AOIs you have created and then paste these regions to a selected image, or to all images. This allows you to run A/B/n testing across multiple images simultaneously.
Digestibility
What does it tell me?
The Digestibility KPI indicates whether key information is easy for
viewers to 'digest' by understanding whether viewers' attention is properly directed towards that information.
How does it work?
Digestibility is based on:
No. of AOIs - how much information is trying to be conveyed
Prominence - how much attention is focused on the AOIs
Visual Hierarchy (optional) - are AOIs seen in the right order
Note: Digestibility requires at least one AOI to be provided.
Where can I find it?
The Digestibility KPI is available within the Areas of Interest report in Studio.
Note: Digestibility supersedes and improves on the 'Visual Hierarchy' score previously found in the Areas of Interest report. Digestibility is now available as soon as you identify your first Area of Interest, as setting a target visual hierarchy is now optional.
Visual Hierarchy
This feature allows you to dictate the desired hierarchy of elements within content. The report scores each version depending how closely the intended hierarchy matches the predicted experience, the AOI headline report 'Digestibility' will take into account the new set visual hierarchy - resulting in an overall performance score.
Once selected, click and drag your areas to their intended position in the visual hierarchy order (you can have multiple AOIs per priority level). Any drawn areas not given a priority level will still be included in the calculation, but will be given the lowest possible priority level.
